Acknowledgement of Country
Cooling the Commons acknowledges the Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first inhabitants of the nation, and the traditional custodians of the lands where we live, learn and work.
Western Sydney is located across the traditional lands of the Darkinjung, Dharug, Dharawal, Gundangurra, and Gadigal peoples and UTS across the traditional lands of the Gadigal, Dharug, Boorooberongal, Bidiagal and Gamaygal peoples, who have a continuous and deep connection to land, waters, and culture.
Sovereignty over these lands has never been ceded.
We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging, acknowledging them as the traditional custodians of knowledge for these lands.
We support the Uluru Statement from the Heart and accept the invitation to walk in a movement of the Australian people for a better future.
